A favourite among big game hunters the world over. Sturdy design for those with larger hands or who prefer a bigger than average outdoor knife. Lock down sheath design, belt loop positioned high enough for comfort while sitting or riding.
Every Grohmann belt knife comes with a custom designed top grade leather sheath. All leather sheaths are made of 6 to 8 ounce (170 to 227 gram) steerhide that is glued, stitched and riveted for maximum strength and durability. Each is then oil tanned and polished by hand to give it a beautiful finish.
Grohmann knives are recognized around the world for their exceptional beauty, balance and quality. They have won more than 25 international honors including a display at New York's prestigious Museum of Modern Art.
This knife is also available with a gut hook as a special order. Email us for details.
With sharpening steel

Carbon Blades:
The "Carbon Blade" is a softer steel. It does not hold an edge as well as the "High-Carbon Stainless" blade, however it is easier to sharpen. This is at the expense of it's ability to withstand rust. All knives must be kept clean dry and oiled, however the "Carbon" blade knives have less tolerance for neglect.
Handle types:
Xtra Water-Resistant Resinwood: These eye-catching handles are made from layers of natural hardwoods impregnated with resin. The beauty of wood, a high gloss finish that does not require any future liquid finishes, not affected by extreme temperatures, and resistant to the corrosive affects of salt water are just some of the reasons to choose Xtra.
Rosewood: Grohmann's classic. By far the most popular handle. Ranging from deep, rosy brown to blonde stripes, each one is quite unique. The wood is plantation grown mainly in East india. Selected for its durability, colour and rich grain, rosewood will always be an excellent quality choice.
Water Buffalo: For the more exotic collector, natural water buffalo horn handles are functional and beautiful. Colour variations from deep black to pearly streaks, this water-resistant choice looks as good as it feels.
Below is the boat knife shown in the three available handle types. The top one is the Xtra Water-Resistant, the middle is the Rosewood and bottom is the Water Buffalo. Note that exact look of each wood handle will vary due to natural characteristics of wood grain.

Blade Grinds:
The image below shows the difference between the regular and flat grind blades. This is the original (#1) with the regular grind blade at the top and the flat grind at the bottom.
